These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mahjboard app and the public leaderboards we host (together, the "Service"), operated by Maybe Tomorrow, LLC ("Maybe Tomorrow," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are not old enough to form a binding contract where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Subscriptions are purchased and billed through your App Store account, and you are responsible for charges made through it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Mahjboard lets organizers create and manage mahjong leagues, record session scores and attendance, apply their own branding, and publish a public leaderboard that anyone with the link or QR code can view. Participants do not need an account or the app to view a leaderboard.
3. Subscriptions, billing & trials
- Mahjboard is offered as an auto-renewable subscription at $19.99 per month, with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Your subscription is purchased and billed through the Apple App Store using your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial if you do not cancel before it ends.
- Your subscription renews automatically at $19.99/month unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings > your Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds for partial subscription periods. Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple under the App Store's policies.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not:
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful;
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours, or probe, scan, or breach our security;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or use it to build a competing product by scraping or bulk-extracting data;
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or the App Store's terms.
5. Organizer responsibility & participant consent
As an organizer, you control what you publish and share. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required from your participants for the display names and scores you publish on a public leaderboard, for using display names your participants are comfortable having shown publicly, and — if you use the seating-assignment email feature — for using display names your participants are comfortable having shared, by email, with the other participants seated at their table. You represent that you have the right to publish and share the content you enter, and you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you publish or share in breach of these Terms.
If you use Mahjboard to send text messages to your participants, you are responsible for obtaining each participant's prior consent to be texted before you add their mobile number, and for messaging only participants who have opted in. Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and message and data rates may apply to them. You agree to use SMS only for the league purposes described in these Terms and in compliance with applicable law and mobile-carrier requirements. Texting through Mahjboard is currently one-way: you cannot reply to a participant through this program, and if a participant replies with anything other than a recognized keyword, that reply is stored (see our Privacy Policy) but is not forwarded to you — if you want to follow up with a participant, you'll need to reach out to them directly using contact information you already have.
If you use Mahjboard to email your participants an RSVP link and/or seating-assignment details, you agree to use that feature only for the league purposes described in these Terms and in compliance with applicable law, including CAN-SPAM. Every RSVP-reminder and seating-assignment email includes a working one-click unsubscribe link that you may not remove, disable, or attempt to circumvent, and you agree not to email a participant who has unsubscribed. A seating-assignment email discloses a participant's display name to the other participants seated at their table for that session — by using this feature you confirm you have any consent needed to share that information with those participants, the same as you already confirm for the public leaderboard above. If you set a reply-to address, replies go directly to you — Mahjboard does not receive or process them, and you are responsible for how you use and store anything a participant sends you that way, the same as any other participant communication.
6. Intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, and the Mahjboard name and marks — is owned by Maybe Tomorrow, LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service under these Terms.
You retain ownership of the content you provide (your league data, rosters, scores, logo, and branding). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the Service — including rendering your public leaderboards.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that standings and stats will always be accurate or available.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mahjboard and Maybe Tomorrow, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time (see Section 3). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm to us, other users, or third parties. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Oregon for any dispute, except those that may be brought in small-claims court.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll provide additional notice where appropriate. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Apple App Store terms
You download Mahjboard from the Apple App Store, and these Terms are between you and Maybe Tomorrow, LLC only — not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the Service, and Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the Service (including product-liability, legal-compliance, or consumer-protection claims). In the event of any third-party claim that the Service infringes intellectual-property rights, Maybe Tomorrow, LLC (not Apple) is responsible. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
